Dear everyone
I am back with not one but two fundraisers tomorrow on my Bandcamp page :-)))
“AMOR”, OUT THIS FRIDAY 7th AUGUST 2026: BANDCAMP EXCLUSIVE RELEASE TO FUNDRAISE FOR ANIMALS
With “Amor”, I am reviving my fundraising initiative through which we sent 2,200$ to 14 organizations in less than 2 years. 100% proceeds go to selected animal shelters and rescue organizations. More info tomorrow :)
Bandcamp Fridays are days on which Bandcamp does not take its 15% commission, making it the ideal day to fundraise. They last 24 hours and start at 9 am Central European Time – 3 am EST – 12 am (midnight) PDT.
Thank you so much Daniel Castrejón for the artwork and design and Oswaldo Terrones for the additional mixing.
HUMANITARIAN FUNDRAISING #8 DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS G.Z. FUND (Médecins sans Frontières – Medicos sin Fronteras) @doctorswithoutborders TOMORROW BANDCAMP FRIDAY 7th AUGUST: “SPECIAL VERSIONS – LIVE AT ACCA, BRIGHTON”.
On 6th December 2024, I launched a humanitarian fundraising initiative on my Bandcamp, thanks to a wonderful live recording of a show containing exclusive music I gave at the amazing sounding Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts in Brighton, UK @attenboroughctr
Long story short: most of the fundraising went to P.l.stin and L.b.n.n, and in just 7 fundraisers we gathered 3358.27 $.
Just before my US tour in early May, I decided, as a measure of personal safety, to put all the posts related to this fundraising in the trash section of both my Instagram/Facebook (Meta) accounts and my WordPress-run website. Doing it felt really wrong, but I didn’t want to take any chances considering the rapid and preoccupying changes in visa and immigration policy.
I am a one-woman operation when it comes to Colleen (my only permanent professional partners are my label and my synch licencing agency) and I did experience burn out while touring this year, as I booked all the shows myself and ended up with a huge admin and logistics load.
Maintaining this Instagram account and my website is surprisingly more work than one would imagine, so that when I came back from the US tour, while retrieving those posts from the trash was indeed a priority, I kept postponing it because I had all the European shows to work on. When I got down to it, slightly more than 1 month had passed, and I found out there is a 1-month limit to trash being kept in Meta and WordPress…
I was truly gutted. I poured my heart and a considerable amount of time into this fundraising, and while the important thing is to have gathered and sent the money, I do think the visibility of it is important, and it is certainly part of who I am both as a person and a musician.
I hope you will join me on both the humanitarian and animal fundraising tomorrow :-)
