So here it is at long last, my fourth album The Weighing of the Heart gets its official release today on Second Language! The album is available directly from the Second Language label itself, Rough Trade shops, Norman Records mail order, as well as Boomkat, Bleep, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, HMV and a host of other retailers worldwide!

The whole album will be available for listen on Youtube very soon – in the meantime those of you using Spotify can listen to it there.

I will post more pictures of the physical formats (CD and vinyl) very soon, and in the meantime here is the full artwork by Iker Spozio in all its splendor, and a peek of the vinyl format.

I had the pleasure of writing a text on a favourite album of mine, Moondog’s Moondog 2, for Artists on Albums series. Moondog 2 played a key role in my work on the new album and you can find out how, as well as why I like it so much, here.

You can finally listen to the album in its entirety on the website of Spanish magazine Mondo Sonoro, as well as listen to / watch tracks that I selected for somehow having had an influence on the album’s making and contents, here. I wrote a small text in Spanish to accompany each track, but even if you don’t speak Spanish, I still hope you’ll enjoy that extra “window” into the album’s world !

Seven tracks of the album can also be listened to on David Garland’s Spinning on Air programme, on New York radio WNYC. I had the pleasure of doing a live session for David back in 2005, so I’m honoured that he chose to feature the album so prominently in his excellent radio show, and find his view of the record (as focusing on a play on proportions) really interesting. Second Language, the label releasing The Weighing of the Heart, run a suscription system whereby by suscribing to get the next 5 releases of the label (including my album), you will get an exclusive item with each album. For The Weighing… , we asked Iker Spozio, the author of almost all of my artwork so far, to make some hand-made prints: Iker made 6 different linoleum engravings, and printed 25 copies of each. You can see the engravings and part of the process below: no machine whatsoever is involved, it really is all done by hand, one colour at a time.

The majority of the prints are already reserved for current suscribers, but there are a few left for new suscribers, so if you’re tempted, go here (of course this is while stocks last, so if you really are suscribing to get a print, be sure to ask beforehand !).

I’ll be playing live in Crystal palace (South London) at the very intimate Antenna Studios (65-capacity) on 7^th June, with Klima opening. Only 50 tickets are available, so grab these while you can! More details in the FUTURE SHOWS section.
